Mirador Del Nudo
Mirador Del Nudo (Viewpoint of the Knot) is a gateway between the urban and the natural. Strategically placed at a mountain peak along a primary hiking route aiming to demonstrate how design can bridge urban and natural environments creating spaces that incentivizes human activity. By enhancing the physical and visual connections between Urban Barcelona and Natural Collserola. The design is based on the concept of a Folded Trail that further extends continuity and the hiking experience while also expanding on the existing visual experience and essentially acting as a 360° Panoramic View Synthesizer. It recognizes the most authentic form of connectivity between city and mountain as the kinetic act of hiking; therefore, the structure becomes an architectural extension of the trail itself, weaving the landscape’s invisible contour lines into a three-dimensional experience.
